3 Players the Giants Should Trade For to Finish Off Their 2025 Roster

The New York Giants have had a solid offseason so far. GM Joe Schoen crushed free agency and the draft, picking up some big names like Jevon Holland, Paulson Adebo, and Russell Wilson. They also grabbed some promising rookies, including No. 3 pick Abdul Carter and quarterback Jaxson Dart. Things are looking up, but the team still has a few weak spots to patch up before training camp.

Here are three players the Giants should try to trade for:

1. Cobie Durant – Cornerback, Rams

The Giants’ secondary was a mess last year, and while adding Adebo and Holland helps, they still need more cornerback depth. Banks is inconsistent, and while rookies like Dru Phillips and Tyler Nubin have potential, it’s risky to rely too much on them just yet.

Cobie Durant could be the perfect fit. He had a solid 2024 season but is stuck behind other guys on the Rams’ depth chart. He wouldn’t cost much—probably just a mid-to-late-round pick—and could be great insurance if Banks doesn’t bounce back.

2. Noah Fant – Tight End, Seahawks

Tight end is a question mark for New York. Theo Johnson had potential but got hurt, and the rest of the tight end group isn’t exactly elite. Noah Fant, though not the star he was once expected to be, could be a solid short-term solution.

Seattle is clearly moving on from him after drafting two younger tight ends, so he’s available. The Giants could offer a backup offensive lineman, which the Seahawks need, and get Fant at a bargain.

3. J.T. Gray – Safety/Special Teams Ace, Saints

Special teams has been a weak spot for the Giants, and it showed last season—they were near the bottom in kickoff and punt coverage. Chris Board and Ty Summers help, but they could use one more standout.

J.T. Gray is one of the best special teams players in the league, and while New Orleans might be hesitant to let him go, the Giants might be able to swing a deal—maybe by offering Jameis Winston or Tommy DeVito, especially with the Saints’ messy QB situation.

All in all, the Giants are close to having a complete roster. A few smart trades like these could make a big difference heading into training camp.
