Alabama’s recruiting momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Just a day after landing 5-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, the Crimson Tide secured a commitment from 3-star wide receiver Owen Cabell of Nashville, Tennessee.
Cabell, a 6-foot-2, 201-pound standout from Christ Presbyterian Academy, made it official Monday following an official visit to Tuscaloosa on June 20. He chose Alabama over finalists Vanderbilt and Illinois, becoming the Tide’s first wide receiver commit for the 2026 class.
In two varsity seasons, Cabell has already totaled nearly 1,500 receiving yards with 19 touchdowns, helping lead his team to back-to-back state championships. Despite being ranked outside the top 100 at his position, his size and ability to make contested catches fit perfectly into what head coach Kalen DeBoer and receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard are looking for.
With Cabell on board, Alabama’s 2026 class now stands at 15 total commitments, including seven on offense. The Crimson Tide’s class ranking has surged into the top 10 nationally, and more big names could soon follow.
Upcoming announcement dates include 5-star receiver Cederian Morgan on July 2, 5-star safety Jireh Edwards on July 5, and two linebackers—Kayron Maycock and Nick Abrams II—later in July.
The Tide’s recruiting efforts continue to make waves, setting the stage for another elite signing class under DeBoer’s leadership.
