Ex-Lions Wideout Joins Aaron Glenn’s Squad in New York

Josh Reynolds Heads East to Reunite with Former Coach

The New York Jets have added a familiar face to their roster, signing veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds to a one-year deal. The move reunites Reynolds with Aaron Glenn, the former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator who is now leading the Jets as their head coach.

A Reliable Target in Detroit

Reynolds arrived in Detroit midway through the 2021 season after being waived by the Tennessee Titans. His prior chemistry with quarterback Jared Goff, dating back to their time with the Los Angeles Rams, helped him carve out a steady role in the Lions’ offense. Over three seasons, Reynolds totaled 97 receptions for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns, often stepping up in crucial moments.

Though he was never the primary receiving option, Reynolds played an important supporting role behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. His ability to stretch the field and make contested catches provided the Lions with reliable depth at the position.

Glenn Adds a Trusted Weapon

While Glenn’s background is rooted in defense, his familiarity with Detroit’s culture likely influenced his decision to bring Reynolds aboard. The Jets’ receiving corps benefits from Reynolds’ experience, giving them another reliable option in an offense looking to improve.

For Reynolds, the move presents a fresh start in a new system—one that could offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a different environment. With a one-year deal that includes incentives, the veteran wideout has every reason to prove he can still be a difference-maker on the field.
