After Free Agency: The One Trade the Jets Can’t Afford to Miss

After the 2025 NFL free agency period, the New York Jets have made several moves to bolster their roster. They signed quarterback Justin Fields, cornerback Brandon Stephens, and safety Andre Cisco, while also re-signing middle linebacker Jamien Sherwood.  Additionally, they acquired wide receiver Tyler Johnson from the Rams and veteran wideout Josh Reynolds.

Despite these additions, the Jets’ wide receiver corps remains underwhelming, especially behind Garrett Wilson. To address this, the team is reportedly interested in trading for 23-year-old New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, known for his speed and big-play ability.

Furthermore, the Jets are exploring trade options with former head coaches now serving as coordinators with the 49ers and Falcons. Potential deals could involve exchanging linebacker Quincy Williams for players like the 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk or the Falcons’ Kyle Pitts.

These strategies highlight the Jets’ commitment to enhancing their roster and meeting the high expectations set for the upcoming season.
