With the 2025 NFL Draft right around the corner, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants might be on the hunt for a quarterback. The Browns hold the No. 2 pick, while the Giants are right behind them at No. 3.
Miami QB Cam Ward is expected to be off the board early, as the Tennessee Titans (who have the No. 1 pick) are showing heavy interest. That means the Browns and Giants could shift their focus to other options, like Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, both teams have been spending serious time scouting Dart before his pro day. However, Cleveland also has its eyes on Sanders, who threw 37 touchdowns in 2024. The Browns are even planning a private workout with him.
The Giants have already signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but neither of them put up impressive numbers last season. Meanwhile, the Browns’ QB situation is messy—Deshaun Watson is recovering from a second Achilles tear, and they recently traded for Kenny Pickett, who has had a shaky start to his career.
On Athlon Sports’ latest draft board, Dart is ranked as the third-best QB prospect behind Sanders and Ward. In 2024, he completed nearly 70% of his passes, throwing for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns.
With quarterback talent at a premium, the Browns and Giants have some big decisions to make. Will they roll the dice on a young prospect, or go in a different direction? We’ll find out soon.
