Commanders Looking at Mark Andrews as Possible Trade Target?
One of the big offseason moves for the Washington Commanders was bringing back veteran tight end Zach Ertz on a one-year deal. He’s been a reliable target for quarterback Jayden Daniels, second only to star receiver Terry McLaurin. But could the team be thinking about adding another weapon to the mix?
According to Anthony Palacios of *Last Word on Sports*, the Commanders might have their eye on Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews as a potential trade target.
“Ertz is back for another year, but this could be his last run with Washington,” Palacios wrote. “If they don’t land a tight end in the draft, they might explore free agency. Andrews could be a great fit—he’s younger and offers more upside than Ertz.”
That said, a deal like this could be tricky. The Commanders have already traded away several draft picks in moves for Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil, leaving them with just five selections in this year’s draft. Plus, Andrews is set to hit free agency in a year, so Washington might just wait rather than give up assets now.
Right now, there’s no clear sign that the front office is eager to pull the trigger on another trade, especially with Ertz already in place. But if they believe they’re in a Super Bowl window, adding more firepower for Daniels wouldn’t be the worst idea. Whether an Andrews trade is realistic at this point? That’s another story.
