DJ Reed Picks New Number, Talks Big Goals With Lions
DJ Reed’s officially rocking No. 4 in Detroit. The former Jets cornerback signed a three-year deal with the Lions last month and just made his jersey number reveal on Instagram, simply captioning it, “Official 🙏🏻❤️.”
Reed’s been around the league since 2018, starting with the 49ers, then moving on to the Seahawks and Jets. Now, he’s bringing his skills to a Lions team that finished strong last season with a 15-2 record but fell short in the playoffs against Washington.
Detroit’s clearly in win-now mode and adding Reed is part of that push. He had 52 solo tackles last year and should help beef up an already solid defense.
Reed also had some high praise for second-year corner Terrion Arnold, saying, “There’s a reason why he was drafted in the first round. He’s going to be very good… Pro Bowl, All-Pro type of guy.”
Arnold, picked 24th overall in 2024, had 47 solo tackles in his rookie season. With both Reed and Arnold in the mix, Detroit’s secondary is looking sharp heading into the new season.
