Giants Could Pass on Shedeur Sanders for Dual-Threat QB With 78 Career TDs
Despite sitting in prime position to take Shedeur Sanders at No. 3 overall, the New York Giants might be eyeing another quarterback — just not on Day 1. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. now predicts the Giants will take Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter in the first round and circle back for Alabama’s Jalen Milroe with pick No. 34.
Milroe, who tallied 45 passing touchdowns and 33 rushing scores at Alabama, is viewed as a raw but electric dual-threat talent. Kiper says the Giants like Milroe’s fit behind veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, where he could sit and develop his processing and accuracy before taking over. Meanwhile, Kiper projects Sanders will land with the New Orleans Saints at No. 9.
With Milroe’s athleticism and arm talent generating quiet buzz in NFL circles, New York may be betting big on upside over polish in this year’s quarterback class.
