Alabama Baseball Ready for Payback vs. Mississippi State

Alabama’s baseball team is gearing up for a big home series this weekend against Mississippi State—and it’s got some history behind it. Last year in May, the Tide had a rough trip to Mississippi after getting hit with food poisoning. Now, they’re getting their shot at redemption in Tuscaloosa.

The three-game series starts Friday at 6 p.m. CT, with Saturday and Sunday games set for 2 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. You can stream all of them on SEC Network+.

Mississippi State comes into this one struggling in the SEC, sitting at 3-9 in conference play with a 20-13 overall record. They’re hoping to turn things around this weekend, because 15 SEC games marks the halfway point of the season. A sweep would be huge for them.

But Alabama’s not going to make that easy. The Crimson Tide is currently 28-6 overall and 7-5 in the SEC. They just beat No. 23 Southern Miss 10-6 earlier this week and are looking to keep the momentum going. A sweep this weekend would put them at 10 SEC wins, which would be a big sign that this team is a serious contender.

The games are happening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, and Alabama fans are hoping to see their team take control and keep climbing the SEC ladder.
