The Dallas Cowboys are expected to beef up their defensive line in the 2025 NFL Draft, and there are a couple of names floating around. Michigan’s Mason Graham is one option, though it’s unlikely he’ll still be available when the Cowboys pick at No. 12. Then there’s Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen a super talented player, but one who comes with some baggage.
According to an NFL executive who spoke to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Nolen has some “maturity concerns.” Reports claim he’s had moments where he walked off the field during practice when things didn’t go his way. While some might chalk that up to passion, others see it as a red flag.
That said, if Nolen can harness those emotions and channel them into his game, he has the potential to be a serious difference-maker. His stats from his last college season are impressive 6.5 sacks, 49 tackles, and 14 tackles for loss, earning him All-American honors.
The Cowboys, known for giving players with a bit of baggage a second shot, could decide to take a chance on him. If they believe they can help him mature, Nolen might just be the right guy to anchor their defensive line in the future.
