Ex-NFL QB Puts Heat on Trevor Lawrence: No More Excuses in Jacksonville”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been doing everything they can to build around quarterback Trevor Lawrence. They brought in a new head coach, Liam Coen, known for getting the best out of quarterbacks, and hired James Gladstone as GM to improve the talent around him. Now, it’s officially put-up-or-shut-up time for Lawrence.

Chris Simms from Pro Football Talk made it clear: no more excuses. He believes Coen could be the best thing to ever happen to Lawrence’s career, pointing to how other quarterbacks thrived under Coen’s guidance. Simms mentioned how Trevor has shown flashes of greatness   like during the Jaguars’ playoff run   but it just hasn’t clicked consistently.

Injuries, bad coaching, and a weak supporting cast haven’t helped, and the Jags haven’t had much of a run game or solid protection for the last two seasons. Simms argued that Lawrence has been asked to carry too much on his own, and it’s hurt his development.

But now, with a revamped coaching staff and better roster, the pressure’s squarely on Trevor. The team invested a ton in him, including a huge contract extension, and they’re expecting results. If things finally come together, the Jags could be fighting for the AFC South title and a playoff spot this season. If not… well, it might be time for Jacksonville to consider moving on.
