Over the weekend, they hosted one of the fastest risers in the class—Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden—for a pre-draft visit. Golden isn’t just another receiver. He’s a home-run threat with legit 4.29 speed and the versatility to contribute both on offense and special teams. His visit to Detroit signals that the Lions could be considering another explosive weapon to pair with Amon-Ra St. Brown—perhaps even as insurance or competition for Jameson Williams, whose future still seems a bit uncertain. With pick No. 28, the Lions might need to make a move up the board if they want to land Golden, but he’d definitely bring a new level of juice to the offense.
