The Detroit Lions’ defense is shaping up to be a serious force this season, especially with key players like DJ Reader and Aidan Hutchinson getting back to full health. They’re also counting on breakout seasons from some young talents like Terrion Arnold and Brian Branch to keep dominating the NFC North in 2025–2026.
On Tuesday, Terrion Arnold, now in his second year with the Lions, opened up emotionally about his late friend and former college teammate, Khyree Jackson. Arnold revealed he changed his jersey number as a tribute to Jackson, and fans had a lot of love for the gesture.
“It’s just that extra push,” Arnold said. “When I look down and see the number 6, I feel like my brother’s living through me.”
Fans were quick to show support. One wrote, “We love you with every number you wear!” Another added, “Way to honor your friend,” and someone else called it “a great tribute.”
Jackson, who played with Arnold at Alabama, tragically died in a car crash on July 6, 2024. The driver involved, 23-year-old Cory Clingman, now faces 13 charges, including DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
