It’s been a week to remember for a couple of standout Alabama track stars.
Sophomore Doris Lemngole absolutely dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Wake Forest Invitational. Not only did she break her own NCAA record, but she also walked away with two major titles: SEC Women’s Runner of the Week and USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week. Talk about a flex.
On the men’s side, freshman Dismus Lokira made a splash too. He smashed Alabama’s school record in the 10,000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational, clocking in at a wild 27:47.20. That time? Fastest in the SEC this season and eighth best in the whole country. No wonder he grabbed SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week.
