Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff is finally getting the recognition he’s worked hard for. After years of being underestimated, Goff has landed at No. 7 on Bleacher Report’s new ranking of the NFL’s top quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season.
NFL analyst Brad Gagnon praised Goff for his impressive numbers, noting he was the NFC’s highest-rated passer in 2024 with a 72.4% completion rate and a 128.9 passer rating on third down. Still, Gagnon cautioned that Goff doesn’t have the same “upward trajectory” as younger QBs and warned that one bad season could knock him off the elite list.
Despite Detroit’s disappointing playoff loss to the Washington Commanders, there’s optimism that Goff can help push the Lions deeper into the postseason this year. CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin also ranked Goff in his top 10, putting him at No. 9 and praising his steady pocket presence despite the team’s recent coaching changes.
After years of flying under the radar, it looks like Jared Goff is finally earning the respect he deserves.
