NFL Drops a Bombshell That Could Shake the Giants’ Season

Giants Fans Can’t Catch a Break with Brutal 2025 Schedule

The New York Giants are trying to bounce back in 2025, especially with veteran QB Russell Wilson stepping in. It’s a big year for head coach Brian Daboll—pretty much make or break—and having Wilson’s experience might help hold the team together.

But just as fans start getting hopeful, the NFL drops some tough news: the Giants have the hardest schedule in the entire league for the upcoming season. Yep, despite finishing with one of the worst records in 2024, they’re stuck with the toughest slate of games in 2025. Only the Bears and Lions come close, tied for second place in difficulty.

So, why the punishment? It mostly comes down to how strong the NFC North was last season. Because of that, the Giants—as well as the Bears, Lions, Packers, and Vikings—got stuck with killer matchups.

Meanwhile, teams like the 49ers, Saints, and Patriots basically hit the scheduling lottery. San Francisco has the easiest schedule in the league.

Still, having a tough schedule doesn’t guarantee a bad season. There’s room for surprises, and Giants fans are hoping this is the year they turn things around.

On social media, fans weren’t thrilled. Comments ranged from “What did the Giants do to deserve this?!” to “Really had to give the Giants the hardest schedule? Bad enough already…”

On the flip side, 49ers fans were pretty smug about their easy path—some already talking Super Bowl.

The season officially kicks off September 4, when the Eagles take on the Cowboys. The full NFL schedule drops May 14.
