The NFL dropped the full 2025 schedule this week, and for Giants fans… buckle up. New York is staring down the toughest strength of schedule in the entire league, even after a miserable 3-14 campaign in 2024. Still, there’s always some hope in the air this time of year, and every team starts with the same record: 0-0.
The early part of the Giants’ slate? Absolutely unforgiving. They open the season on the road in Washington, where they’ll face Jayden Daniels and a rising Commanders squad. They follow that up with a trip to Dallas—where Dak Prescott basically owns the Giants—and a Sunday night home opener against Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Chiefs. Yikes.
Still, this isn’t a team that plans to roll over. They manage a surprising early upset against Dallas thanks to a big pass rush day and just enough from Russell Wilson. And by the time they face the Saints in Week 5, there’s a real shot to grab another win—especially with New Orleans in rebuild mode post-Derek Carr.
By Week 9, fans could be clamoring for rookie QB Jaxson Dart to take over, especially if the team’s already floundering. Head coach Brian Daboll may have no choice but to see what he’s got in the rookie. Dart eventually gets the nod in Week 11 against the Packers, and while the Giants don’t win that one, it marks a turning point in the season.
From there, Dart shows promise, even stealing a surprising win in Detroit and battling hard in losses to teams like the Eagles and Vikings. The season wraps up with a bang: a road win in Vegas and a feel-good home upset over Dallas to close at 7-10.
That might not sound impressive, but with a rookie QB showing flashes and a tougher-than-nails schedule, it could be enough to buy GM Joe Schoen and Daboll another year.
