In today’s Auburn Tigers news, there’s an update on Caleb Wooden and a transfer pitcher looking to make a name for himself on the baseball team.
After spending three seasons at Auburn, defensive back Caleb Wooden is sticking around the SEC but switching teams. He’s transferring to Arkansas for his final year of eligibility. In the 2024 season, Wooden racked up 17 tackles and one interception. Over his Auburn career, he totaled 41 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. Caleb is the younger brother of Colby Wooden, a former Auburn football player who now plays for the Green Bay Packers. Caleb becomes the 19th transfer to join the Razorbacks.
Over on the baseball field, Auburn is gearing up for the season starting February 14, and they’ve made some big moves in the transfer portal. A new pitcher, Samuel Dutton, has stood out during fall practices. Head coach Butch Thompson mentioned that Dutton would be the starting pitcher if the season started today. Dutton, who helped LSU win the 2023 College World Series, has looked impressive in his workouts and is ready to lead the Tigers on the mound. Auburn will kick off their season with a game against Holy Cross at Plainsman Park.
