The Detroit Lions aren’t tiptoeing into the new season—they’re charging in with one clear goal: win the Super Bowl. After two straight NFC North titles and an impressive 15-2 campaign in 2024 that ended in heartbreak, the team is done with moral victories.
“All we’re thinking about is winning the Super Bowl. That’s it,” said star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, via ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “We know we have to make the playoffs first, but that’s understood. The mission is clear.”
The Lions are facing a gauntlet of a schedule this year. They’ve got five prime-time matchups, plus games on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day—proof that the league knows this team is must-watch TV.
Head coach Dan Campbell isn’t sweating the spotlight. “I love the home games, the road games, the night games—well, maybe not the night games as much,” Campbell joked. “But we’ll be ready for all of it. Doesn’t matter how it lines up.”
The team will need to overcome some major offseason changes, including the retirement of cornerstone center Frank Ragnow and the departure of both offensive and defensive coordinators. Even so, the confidence in Detroit hasn’t wavered.
With guys like Amon-Ra leading the charge and Campbell setting the tone, the Lions aren’t just hoping to be contenders—they expect to be champions.
