Two Former Giants Are Now Shining in the UFL
Looks like a couple of old Giants are making big waves in the UFL. Linebacker Tae Crowder and cornerback DeAndre Baker, both former New York Giants, have been tearing it up this season.
Baker, who the Giants picked in the first round back in 2019, didn’t last long in New York—just one season. After a short stint with the Chiefs, he found a fresh start in 2024 with the DC Defenders. Now? He’s one of the top defensive backs in the entire league.
Crowder, on the other hand, was a seventh-round pick in 2020 but managed to carve out a solid role with the Giants, playing in 41 games and starting 31 of them. After a brief stop with the Titans, he signed with the Birmingham Stallions for the 2025 UFL season—and he’s been on fire.
Both players have snagged two interceptions this season. Crowder took both of his to the house and currently leads the league in pick-sixes.
Baker earned All-UFL honors this year (again), racking up 22 tackles, four for loss, two picks, and 10 pass breakups in just eight games. He’s easily one of the league’s top corners right now.
Crowder had a breakout UFL debut, finishing the season with 38 tackles, two for loss, two interceptions, four pass breakups, and a pair of fumble recoveries. He’s proving he still has plenty in the tank.
Could the Giants look to bring one of them back? Maybe. Baker’s become a top-tier defender, and if he’s open to returning to the NFL, the Giants could definitely use some cornerback depth. As for Crowder, the Giants got good value out of him before—he might just be worth a second look.
It’s still a long shot either player reunites with the Giants, but don’t be surprised if NFL teams come calling after their strong UFL seasons.
