Tashard Choice Plans to Unleash Even Better Version of Jahmyr Gibbs

Tashard Choice might be new to the Detroit Lions’ staff, but he’s no stranger to Jahmyr Gibbs—and he’s already making it clear: he’s going to push the Pro Bowl back like never before.

Gibbs is coming off a monster 2024 season with over 1,900 total yards and a league-best 16 rushing touchdowns. He’s earned every bit of hype, but according to Choice, he’s just getting started.

“For him, the sky is the limit,” Choice said. “I’m going to push him like no other. I have to.”

It’s a big statement from a coach who’s been watching Gibbs from afar for years, even back when he was coaching college backs at Texas. Choice said he made it a point to catch Lions games just to see what Gibbs would do next—and now he gets to coach him up personally.

At just 23 years old, Gibbs has already proven he can carry the load. When David Montgomery went down late last season, Gibbs stepped into the RB1 role and ripped off three straight 100-yard games with five touchdowns. Now, with a new coach in his corner, he’s looking to go from elite to unstoppable.

Choice isn’t interested in just keeping things status quo. He sees untapped greatness—and he’s not going to let up until Gibbs hits it.
