The Seattle Storm are heading to San Francisco tonight for a first-ever matchup with the Golden State Valkyries. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET, and fans can catch the action live with a free trial of WNBA League Pass on Amazon Prime.
Seattle (6-4) is coming in hot after handing the previously unbeaten Minnesota Lynx their first loss of the season in a strong 94-84 showing. Nneka Ogwumike led the way with a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds), while Erica Wheeler (20 points) and Skylar Diggins-Smith (18 points) were close behind.
The Valkyries (4-5) are fresh off an overtime win of their own—an 89-81 victory over the L.A. Sparks. Janelle Salaün dropped 21 points in that one before heading off to play for France in the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket. Golden State also just picked up former MSU star and WNBA champ Aerial Powers, adding more punch to their lineup.
This is the first-ever meeting between these two teams, and it should be a fun one.
