NFL Playoff Schedule: Lions’ Divisional Opponent and Game Time Announced Your Ultimate Guide

Lions to Face Commanders in 2024-25 Postseason Opener

The Detroit Lions will kick off their 2024-25 postseason on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, where they will face the Washington Commanders.

Though the NFC Wild Card round is still ongoing, the Lions are already guaranteed to meet the Commanders in the second round of the postseason, as Washington is the lowest-seeded team remaining. With the seven-seeded Green Bay Packers eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles, the six-seeded Commanders now hold the title of the lowest remaining team. The Eagles will meet the winner of Monday night’s matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings.

The most recent meeting between the Lions and Commanders was in 2022, when Detroit earned a 36-27 victory. However, both teams have undergone significant changes since that game. Notably, Washington now features rookie standout quarterback Jayden Daniels, and head coach Dan Quinn is in his first season with the Commanders. This year, Washington finished with a 12-5 record, their best showing since 1991 when they won the Super Bowl.

Detroit’s Divisional Round playoff game will air on FOX and FOX Deportes.
