The Bills’ NFC Curse: A Nightmare That Just Won’t End
Can 2025 finally break the streak? Or are we in for another heartbreak?
Bills Mafia has seen some wild highs and brutal lows over the last five seasons—but there’s one recurring theme that just won’t die: losing heartbreaker games to NFC teams. And no matter how good they’ve looked, the Bills somehow keep finding new, painful ways to lose the game of the year.
Here’s a quick trauma dump of the worst hits:
2020: “Hail Murray” Horror Show
Josh Allen hits Stefon Diggs for what should’ve been the game-winner with 34 seconds left. Then Kyler Murray throws up a prayer, DeAndre Hopkins makes a miracle catch over three defenders, and boom—Cards win 32-30. You know it was bad when the name “Hail Murray” stuck.
2021: One Last Gut Punch from Brady
The Bills storm back from a 24-3 deficit against the Bucs and force OT. Maybe—just maybe—they finally take down Brady? Nah. He hits Perriman for a 58-yard dagger. Another OT heartbreak.
2022: Vikings Win the Chaos Bowl
Up 27-10. Cruising. And then everything falls apart. Allen fumbles a snap on his own goal line. Vikings recover for a TD. It goes to OT. Allen throws a pick. Game over. Diggs loses to his old team in the most Bills way imaginable.
2023: Philly Thrills, Buffalo Spills
Allen balls out. The Bills put up 34 points, go back and forth with the Eagles in an instant classic. But Hurts walks it off with a 12-yard TD run in OT. Another game-of-the-year candidate, another L.
2024: 42 Points Ain’t Enough
Josh Allen was in video game mode—424 total yards, six touchdowns. And yet… the defense gave up 44 to the Rams. Just a complete meltdown. No one could believe Buffalo lost after a performance like that.
So… What’s in Store for 2025?
Here’s who the Bills face from the NFC this season:
* Week 4: vs. Saints
* Week 6: @ Falcons (Monday Night)
* Week 8: @ Panthers
* Week 11: vs. Buccaneers (again 🙃)
* Week 17: vs. Eagles (why??)
If recent history’s any sign, one of these games will be absolutely insane—and end with Buffalo on the losing end of some ridiculous play. Again.
Bills Mafia’s seen enough. Time to rewrite the script in 2025—or keep living the same nightmare on repeat.
