Trade Proposal Could Be the Tylenol the Lions Desperately Need

If the Detroit Lions are serious about making a Super Bowl run in 2025, there’s one glaring issue that still needs attention: the secondary. And one analyst thinks there’s a perfect fix sitting on the trade block.

According to Bleacher Report, the Lions should make a move for Bengals safety Dax Hill, the 2022 first-rounder who’s shown flashes but hasn’t quite secured a long-term role in Cincinnati. With Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph leading the back end, the Lions aren’t desperate, but depth and flexibility could be game-changers—especially with the way injuries and matchups pile up late in the season.

Dax Hill would bring speed, youth, and versatility to a Detroit defense that’s improved but still vulnerable against high-powered passing attacks. He’s not a star yet, but he’s young, experienced, and has the tools to grow under Aaron Glenn’s system.

Adding Hill could give the Lions a movable chess piece in the secondary—something they’ve lacked when Branch is asked to focus more on traditional safety duties.

It’s not the splashiest move out there, but it’s the kind of smart, surgical trade that turns a good team into a great one—and that might be exactly what Detroit needs to get over the hump.
