That’s right. According to the veteran pass-catcher, no two receivers in the league are doing it quite like St. Brown and Williams.
Robinson praised St. Brown for his unmatched consistency, crisp route running, and fearless mentality — all the qualities that have made him a three-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro in just four seasons. And then there’s Jameson Williams — the speed demon with game-breaking potential, fresh off his first 1,000-yard season and entering Year 4 with all signs pointing to a breakout.
“They complement each other perfectly,” Robinson said. “Amon-Ra handles everything underneath and over the middle, and Jameson stretches the field like few others can. If you’re a defense, how do you even prepare for that?”
That praise carries weight coming from a guy who knows what it takes to succeed in the NFL. Robinson spent nearly a decade going toe-to-toe with top corners and saw plenty of elite receivers up close. For him to place Detroit’s duo above the likes of Miami’s Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle or Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins — that’s saying something.
It’s also more validation for a Lions team that’s been building something special under head coach Dan Campbell. With Jared Goff playing some of the best football of his career, and offensive coordinator John Morton cooking up new schemes, the sky might really be the limit for this receiving tandem.
St. Brown already has over 4,800 career yards and 33 touchdowns. Jameson Williams, despite a slower start due to injury and development time, put up big numbers last season and appears poised to explode in 2025. Add in their chemistry, work ethic, and growing leadership roles, and it’s easy to see why Detroit fans are so excited.
It’s not just hype anymore. When even former players are calling you the best in the business — people are officially paying attention.
Detroit’s receiving room isn’t just good. According to the ones who’ve been there — it’s the best.
