Jim Kelly Asks for Prayers as His Family Faces Another Crisis 💔
Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly is once again asking fans to rally around his family — this time for his newborn grandson, who’s facing a serious, yet undisclosed, medical issue.
Kelly shared the heartbreaking update on Instagram, saying the family is going through one of the hardest moments they’ve ever faced. His daughter Erin and her husband Parker just welcomed their baby boy, and now they’re in the middle of an unexpected health battle.
“We never imagined we’d be here again, in this place of heartbreak and suffering,” Kelly wrote. “Please pray for our daughter Erin, her husband Parker, and their precious newborn baby boy.”
This isn’t the first time the Hall of Famer has leaned on faith and support from the Bills community. Years ago, Kelly lost his young son, Hunter, to a rare disease. He later fought through his own grueling battle with cancer, undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Through it all, he’s been open about his belief in the power of prayer and the support he’s received from fans.
In his post, Kelly included Bible verses from Isaiah, reminding everyone that even when things feel impossible, they’re trusting in God’s strength to carry them through.
“We don’t have all the words… but God knows, and we trust that He hears every cry, sees every tear, and holds every detail in His sovereign hands,” he shared.
Since posting, fans — along with some of his closest friends and former teammates — have been pouring in their support.
Thurman Thomas, Kelly’s former teammate and longtime friend, simply wrote:

The Bills organization also released a statement backing Kelly’s message, asking fans to continue respecting the family’s privacy as they navigate this difficult chapter.
“The family extends thanks for the outpouring of love, prayers, and encouragement they’ve already received. They promise to share more when the time is right.”
For now, the message is simple: Jim Kelly needs us again — and this time, it’s for the smallest member of his family. 💙
