The Detroit Lions’ “We Want More” bus tour made its way through Lansing on Thursday to hype up fans for the team’s divisional round game against the Washington Commanders. Over the past week, Lions supporters have braved the cold across Michigan, from Traverse City to metro Detroit, to attend these stops. In Lansing, the bus made three appearances—first at the Meijer in Okemos, then at the Capitol, and finally at Harrison’s Roadhouse in East Lansing.
Among the fans was Chris Pruett, known as the Lions Guy, who dyed his big mustache blue for the playoffs. “I started dying it three years ago, and that’s when things started getting exciting,” he said.
The event also brought together people from all walks of life, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Republican Speaker of the House Matt Hall. Whitmer said, “This is about two peninsulas, two parties, but one pride,” expressing her excitement for the playoffs. While she isn’t planning on dying her hair blue, she shared that the Lions bring hope and excitement to Michiganders.
