Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson Jokingly Warns Rookie About Studying His Tape Too Much

Aidan Hutchinson may be one of the top dogs on the Detroit Lions’ defense, but even he knows when to draw the line—especially when it comes to being imitated too closely.

During a recent interaction with rookie pass rusher Marcus Harris (or the unnamed rookie in question), Hutchinson had a playful but pointed message: “Stop studying my tape.”

Hutchinson revealed the comment with a laugh during media availability, explaining that the rookie had been watching his film so much that he was starting to copy every move. “I told him, ‘Man, you gotta find your own game. You can’t just be a clone of me,’” Hutchinson said. “It’s flattering, but we’ve got different tools.”

While it was all in good fun, Hutchinson’s response shows the leadership he’s taking on in Year 3—not only setting the tone on the field, but also helping rookies understand the importance of developing their own identity.

With the Lions’ defense looking to level up in 2025, Hutchinson’s voice is carrying more weight than ever—and his personality is just as strong as his pass rush.
