Could Vlad Guerrero Jr. End Up in Pinstripes?
Talks between Vlad Jr. and the Blue Jays are heating up as Spring Training looms. If they can’t lock him down, teams like the Yankees and Mets are waiting in the wings. Sure, Vlad once said some not-so-nice things about the Yankees, but that’s ancient history now. With Paul Goldschmidt clearly a temporary solution at first base, the Yankees might throw their hat in the ring for Guerrero next offseason. But hey, Hal Steinbrenner already lost one bidding war to the Mets’ Steve Cohen – could it happen again?

Ke’Bryan Hayes: A Sneaky Fit for the Infield?
The search for Gleyber Torres’ replacement rolls on, and now Ke’Bryan Hayes from the Pirates has entered the chat. He’s had a rough time offensively, but his defense at third base is still elite. Plus, the Pirates owner is known for cutting deals to shed payroll, so the Yankees might be able to snag him for cheap. Hayes hasn’t exactly been thrilled with Pittsburgh’s coaching choices, so a change of scenery could do him good. It’s not flashy, but it could be a smart move for the Yanks.

The Marcus Stroman Problem
The Yankees want to unload Marcus Stroman and his $18 million salary, but there’s a catch: no one seems eager to take him. His contract comes with a vesting option for 2026 if he throws 140 innings this year, which is making teams think twice. And to make things worse, Jordan Montgomery—who the Yankees traded away back in 2022—could be a cheaper, younger alternative on the market. Unless the Yankees are willing to sweeten the deal with prospects or eat some of Stroman’s salary, they might be stuck with him for now.
