The Raiders are moving fast to snag Ben Johnson as their new head coach after the Lions’ loss in the Divisional Round. With Johnson now available for interviews, he’s been linked to top coaching spots with the Raiders, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Raiders are especially eager, with minority owner Tom Brady playing a key role in the search. Reports say they are “enamored” with Johnson, and they’re not wasting any time trying to get him in for an in-person interview. NFL insider Ian Rapoport even confirmed that they are pushing hard to be the first in line for a face-to-face chat.
While Johnson has multiple options, the Raiders are definitely aiming to make him their top choice, so it’s all hands on deck for this push. He’ll likely weigh all his offers before making a final decision in the coming week.
