Detroit Lions offensive linemen hold their coach, Hank Fraley, in the highest regard, and center Frank Ragnow is leading the charge to ensure he stays with the team for the long haul. Ragnow’s admiration for Fraley goes beyond football, crediting him for his deep understanding and connection.

“That’s the only reason why I’d love to have him here for my whole tenure, if I could,” Ragnow shared.

Fraley’s future with the Lions could involve a promotion, especially if current offensive coordinator Ben Johnson secures a head coaching job elsewhere. In that case, Fraley would be a strong candidate for the offensive coordinator role, competing with internal options like assistant head coach and running backs coach Scottie Montgomery and passing game coordinator Tanner Engstrand.

Ragnow is fully confident in Fraley’s abilities, saying, “I truly think he would be great. He’s bright, man. He’s bright. He’s so creative in what he does with this offense. I know Ben gets a lot of the credit or whatever, but Hank, that whole staff, they’re very innovative and creative, and they do a really good job.”

Now that Lions coaches are free to conduct in-person interviews with other teams, the potential for change could come quickly.
