The Detroit Lions have officially locked up one of their cornerstone players, signing star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson to a contract extension that runs through the 2030 season.

The former No. 2 overall pick from Michigan (2022) has been dominant since entering the league, posting 34.5 sacks in 46 games. Hutchinson’s résumé also includes 78 quarterback hits, 36 tackles for loss, 11 pass defenses, eight forced fumbles, five recoveries, and four interceptions.

A Pro Bowler in 2023, Hutchinson had 7.5 sacks in just five games last year before suffering a leg injury. He’s bounced back strong with six sacks in seven games, leading the NFL in pressures (48) and strip-sacks (3) while tying for most forced fumbles (4).
