Get ready, college football fans, because the “Way-Too-Early” rankings are rolling in for the 2025 season, and guess what? Oklahoma made the cut! On3, a site that keeps tabs on college and high school sports, dropped its early top-25 list, and the Sooners landed at No. 18.
Despite a rocky 6-7 record in their first year in the SEC (thanks to a ton of injuries), On3 sees some serious potential for the Sooners. According to analyst Ari Wasserman, Oklahoma’s got a new offensive coordinator, Ben Arbuckle, and a hotshot transfer QB, John Mateer, from Washington State. Plus, their O-line is expected to level up. Wasserman’s take? This QB could be a star.
The SEC is flexing its muscles with 10 teams in the top 25, more than any other conference. Texas (ugh) snagged the top spot, with Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and more rounding out the rankings. But hey, Oklahoma is in there, and that’s what matters!
Here’s how the SEC teams ranked in On3’s list:
- Texas, 6) Georgia, 8) South Carolina, 9) Florida, 11) Auburn, 13) Tennessee, 14) Alabama, 15) LSU, 18) Oklahoma, and 19) Texas A&M.
Looks like 2025 could be an interesting season for the Sooners! Stay tuned.
