Amon-Ra St. Brown on Lions’ Coaching Exodus: “We’ll be All Right”
With the Detroit Lions undergoing significant coaching changes ahead of the 2025-26 season, star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown remains confident in his team’s ability to thrive. The Lions recently lost both their coordinators, Ben Johnson (offense) and Aaron Glenn (defense), who each accepted head coaching roles, along with tight ends coach Steve Heiden, who moved to the New York Jets. Additionally, wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El is headed to the Chicago Bears.
Despite the turnover, St. Brown believes the Lions will stay on track, famously stating, *“We’ll be all right, though. Players make plays, right?”* The 2024 season saw St. Brown post impressive numbers, including 115 receptions for 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns, solidifying his place among the NFL’s top wideouts.
St. Brown shared his thoughts on Randle El’s departure, expressing happiness for his former coach’s new opportunity with the Bears, noting their group chat exchange. *“I was just messing around,”* St. Brown said, recounting how he jokingly predicted Randle El would follow Ben Johnson to Chicago before receiving the real news just moments later.
As St. Brown heads into his fifth season with the Lions, he remains undeterred by the coaching staff shakeup and is focused on continuing his upward trajectory alongside his teammates.
