Lions Eyeing Saints’ Paulson Adebo as Potential Cornerback Upgrade
The Detroit Lions are once again in the market for a cornerback after Carlton Davis’ contract expired and their rookie duo, Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw Jr., struggled to make an immediate impact. Despite heavy investments in the secondary last offseason, the team still needs reinforcements.
One under-the-radar name gaining attention is New Orleans Saints corner Paulson Adebo. CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani suggests Adebo as an ideal target for Detroit, highlighting his strong coverage skills and physicality. Although he played only seven games in 2024 due to a broken femur, he recorded 52 tackles, three interceptions, and 10 passes defended before the injury. His previous full season saw him rack up 76 tackles, four picks, and 18 passes defended while allowing just a 55% completion rate in 2023.
Adebo’s mix of tackling ability and playmaking could be a valuable addition to the Lions’ secondary, especially if he comes at a discounted price due to his injury-shortened 2024 season.
