Steelers Eye New Superstar Wide Receiver in Potential Trade

The Los Angeles Rams have officially informed star wide receiver Cooper Kupp that he’ll be traded as the team shifts directions. Kupp had been the subject of trade rumors during the season, and now it’s clear that he’s on the market. The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the teams that could be a logical landing spot.

Kupp shared his thoughts on the move in a statement on X, saying, “I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember.”

For the right price, the Steelers might be able to land Kupp with a second or third-round pick, giving them a chance to focus on other needs while adding a star wide receiver to pair with George Pickens.

Kupp is known for playing mostly in the slot, but he’s also a great blocker. However, injuries have been a constant issue throughout his career, and his age is starting to show as he slows down. Despite that, the Steelers should still be in the mix, as they have the cap space to accommodate Kupp’s contract and could benefit from adding him to their offense.
