Michiganders Betting Big: Nearly $50 Million Expected to Be Wagered on Super Bowl

Michiganders Projected to Bet Nearly $47 Million on Super Bowl LVIII

While the Detroit Lions may not be playing in Super Bowl LVIII in New Orleans, Michigan residents are still gearing up for the big game. According to projections from the American Gaming Association (AGA), Michiganders are expected to wager nearly $47 million on this year’s Super Bowl. This is part of a massive $1.39 billion expected to be bet nationwide, marking another milestone for legal sports betting.

This year’s Super Bowl will be the sixth since Michigan legalized online sports wagering in late 2019, further highlighting the growing trend of sports betting. “No single event unites sports fans like the Super Bowl, and that excitement extends to sports betting, with this year’s record legal handle reflecting its widespread appeal,” said AGA president and CEO Bill Miller.

As of now, the Kansas City Chiefs are listed as slight favorites at -1 against the Philadelphia Eagles for the February 11th matchup.

With Michigan’s sports betting market continuing to thrive, the Super Bowl remains one of the most anticipated events for bettors across the state.
