Detroit Lions Tipped as Prime Spot for $16.4 Million Linebacker

Lions Named Top Landing Spot for Dre Greenlaw in Free Agency

As the Detroit Lions prepare for an active offseason, they are emerging as a potential landing spot for linebacker Dre Greenlaw. After a strong start to his career with the San Francisco 49ers, including two Super Bowl appearances and a $16.4 million contract, Greenlaw has battled injury setbacks, including a torn Achilles in the 2024 Super Bowl.

Now entering free agency, Greenlaw could be a high-risk, high-reward addition for the Lions, especially if Derrick Barnes departs. With the Lions’ linebacker corps struggling with injuries last season, Greenlaw could provide a much-needed boost to their run defense if he returns to form. Given his productivity when healthy, the Lions could offer him a chance to prove himself at a more affordable price.
