Russell Wilson’s time with the Pittsburgh Steelers is expected to come to an end. NFL insider Jay Glazer revealed that the Steelers won’t be re-signing him for the 2025 season.
Glazer, who is close to head coach Mike Tomlin, confirmed that Wilson is likely heading elsewhere. “I think you’ll see a new start for Russell somewhere,” he said.
When asked about a potential move to the Las Vegas Raiders, Glazer shut it down, stating, “That ain’t gonna happen.”
The Steelers now face uncertainty at quarterback. Glazer admitted that even the team isn’t sure who will start under center for them next season.
Wilson’s relationship with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith may have contributed to the decision. Reports indicate Wilson was stripped of his ability to change plays at the line, causing friction.
As Wilson prepares for a fresh start, the Steelers are left to figure out their quarterback situation for 2025 and beyond.
