Former Alabama football coach Nick Saban has a reputation for being a tough, no-nonsense leader, but according to former player Will Anderson Jr., Saban has a lighter side.
Anderson, who now plays for the Houston Texans, shared a story about Saban’s sense of humor during an interview. “Nick Saban was actually a big joker,” Anderson said. “He was fun, man. I loved playing for Nick. He’ll have his little jokes here and there.”
Anderson recalled a time when he got hurt during a game and Saban teased him about the severity of the injury. “He looked at me and started laughing,” Anderson said. “He said, ‘How long is a low-ankle sprain going to take for you to get back out there Will Anderson?'”
Anderson’s story offers a glimpse into Saban’s personality that is not often seen by the public.
