Jackson and Daniels: A Dual Threat in the NFC East
The 2024 NFL season saw exceptional performances from Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Washington Commanders rookie Jayden Daniels. Jackson continued to prove why he’s one of the league’s most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks, amassing 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. He also contributed 915 rushing yards and four additional scores, further solidifying his reputation as a game-changer.
Daniels, meanwhile, wasted no time making an impact in his first season. The Commanders’ young star completed 69.4% of his passes for 3,500 yards and 30 touchdowns while adding 864 rushing yards and six more scores on the ground. His efforts earned him the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and a Pro Bowl selection.
Parsons’ Bold Statement on Jackson and Daniels
On a recent episode of his podcast, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons didn’t hold back when discussing the talent both quarterbacks bring to the division.
“I haven’t seen more of a cold-blooded rookie since I’ve been in the NFL and probably the past, besides Lamar, probably past five, seven years,” Parsons said.
Parsons went even further, suggesting that if Daniels had remained healthy for the entire season, he could have been in the MVP discussion. The recognition from one of the league’s top defenders underscores the growing threat Daniels and Jackson pose to opposing teams—especially to Dallas, who will face them multiple times a year.
A Tough Road Ahead for Dallas
Parsons’ comments serve as a clear warning to the Cowboys: the NFC East is becoming increasingly competitive, and their defensive unit will need to step up. With Jackson’s continued dominance and Daniels’ rapid rise, Dallas will have its hands full trying to contain two of the league’s most electrifying playmakers.
Parsons, coming off another stellar season with 14 sacks, 100 tackles, and three forced fumbles, understands the challenge ahead. His words not only acknowledge the talent of his rivals but also set the stage for what could be one of the most thrilling quarterback-defender rivalries in the division.
As the Cowboys prepare for 2025, one thing is clear—Jackson and Daniels won’t make it easy for them.
