The Miami Dolphins have released veteran running back Raheem Mostert, a Pro Bowl player, as part of their roster moves.
Mostert spent three seasons with the Dolphins, playing 44 games with 30 starts, and recording 475 carries for 2,181 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns. He also had 75 catches for 538 receiving yards and five touchdown receptions.
In 2023, Mostert led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns and was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. He set single-season franchise records for most total touchdowns in a season (21) and most rushing touchdowns in a season (18) that year.
The Dolphins will clear $2.9 million in cap space with Mostert’s release. This move comes after De’Von Achane emerged as Miami’s clear RB1 in 2024, with a team-high 907 yards rushing on 203 carries and six touchdowns.
Mostert’s release has sparked speculation about his future, with some linking him to the Carolina Panthers as a potential replacement for Miles Sanders.
