Aidan Hutchinson Reveals Key Takeaways from Myles Garrett Conversation

Aidan Hutchinson Opens Up About Myles Garrett Conversation at NFL Honors

Aidan Hutchinson recently shed some light on his much-discussed conversation with Myles Garrett at the NFL Honors ceremony. The viral photo of Hutchinson and Lions quarterback Jared Goff chatting with Garrett had fans buzzing—was there a little recruiting going on?

Speaking on “The Squeeze” podcast with actor (and huge Lions fan) Taylor Lautner and his wife, Tay, Hutchinson gave the inside scoop on what was really said.

“If me and Myles were to pair up, that would be deadly, you know?” Hutchinson admitted. “We were just talking about what could be. Although it’s probably unlikely, I think I would be thrilled to play next to him if it were to happen. Our whole D-line would be totally elevated, and that would be a scary sight.”

While the Browns have shown no indication they’re willing to trade Garrett, the offseason is young. With Detroit’s defense looking to take another step forward in 2025, the thought of pairing Garrett and Hutchinson is enough to make any Lions fan dream big.

Building a Connection

Beyond football, Hutchinson spoke highly of Garrett, sharing that the two have developed a good relationship over the years. “We get along, too. I’ve seen him these last few years at different things. He texted me after I got hurt, which was just a cool thing. Guys outside of your own team who reach out to you—so I think he’s a good dude.”

Hutchinson’s Injury Update

On the same podcast, Hutchinson also provided an update on his injury recovery. The episode was recorded the week of the Super Bowl, and at the time, he was just weeks away from being fully cleared.

“I’ll be cleared in a couple weeks now,” he shared. “I’m just about at that point where everything is looking good, but just a couple more weeks to finalize everything.”

Since then, Hutchinson has been seen running at the Lions’ training facility, and all signs point to him being ready for spring OTAs. He made one thing very clear—he’s itching to get back on the field.

“I cannot wait to play football again, dude. I cannot wait. My last game was in October. So the second I can get back out there—even practice—I’m hyped. But once I step back in there for Week 1, whenever that is, that’s what I look forward to.”

Lions fans certainly share that excitement. If Hutchinson comes back at full strength, and Detroit somehow lands a game-changer like Garrett, the Lions’ defense could be on another level in 2025. Until then, we’ll just have to keep dreaming.
