Could the Detroit Lions pull off one of the biggest moves of the offseason? A new trade proposal suggests Detroit could land superstar pass-rusher Myles Garrett in a blockbuster deal with the Cleveland Browns.
According to Jeff Risdon of Lions Wire, the proposed trade would send the Lions’ 2025 first-round pick (No. 28), a 2025 third-round pick (No. 101), a 2026 first-round pick, a 2026 third-round pick, and defensive tackle Brodric Martin to Cleveland. In return, Detroit would receive Garrett, a 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 165), and Cleveland’s 2026 second-round pick.
The deal would also include a new four-year contract for Garrett worth $144.5 million ($36.13 million per year) with $94 million guaranteed.
Why Garrett Would Be a Game-Changer for Detroit
Adding Garrett to a defensive front that already features Aidan Hutchinson would give the Lions one of the most dominant pass-rush duos in the NFL. Garrett is coming off a 14-sack, 83-pressure season and has totaled 44 sacks over the past three years. His presence could take Detroit’s defense to the next level as they aim to build on last season’s playoff run.
While the trade would cost Detroit significant draft capital, landing a player of Garrett’s caliber is rare. The Lions’ front office, led by GM Brad Holmes, has been aggressive in building a contender, and this move would solidify their defense for years to come.
What do you think? Should the Lions go all-in for Garrett?
