Former Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia has been hired as the new defensive coordinator at Ohio State University. Patricia, who spent three seasons as the Lions’ head coach from 2018 to 2020, will bring his NFL experience to the collegiate level.
Patricia’s defensive expertise will be a valuable asset to the Buckeyes, who have consistently been one of the top programs in college football. During his time with the Lions, Patricia’s defenses showed flashes of brilliance, particularly in 2019 when they ranked 10th in the NFL in total defense.
