Aidan Hutchinson is dreaming big for the Lions’ defense—and he knows just how scary it could be.
During an interview on “The Squeeze” podcast, Hutchinson revealed that he spoke with Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett at the NFL Honors event, and the two discussed the possibility of teaming up. Though Hutchinson admitted it’s “probably unlikely,” he couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to have Garrett on the same defensive line.
“If me and Myles were to pair up, that would be deadly,” Hutchinson said. “Our whole D-line would be totally elevated… that’d be a scary defensive line.”
The thought of two of the NFL’s top pass-rushers lining up together is enough to send shivers down any quarterback’s spine. Last season, Hutchinson and Garrett ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in Pro Football Focus’ pass-rushing grades. Adding Garrett to Detroit’s defensive front could be the missing piece to push the Lions over the top in their Super Bowl chase.
Despite Garrett requesting a trade from the Browns, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Cleveland has a “hard no” stance on moving him. But in the NFL, anything can happen. Could the Lions find a way to make this dream scenario a reality?
