A blockbuster trade proposal has been suggested that would send superstar edge rusher Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Detroit Lions. In the proposed deal, the Lions would acquire Crosby and a 2025 fifth-round pick in exchange for quarterback Hendon Hooker and 2025 and 2026 first-round picks.
Crosby, a four-time Pro Bowler, would instantly take the Lions’ defense to another level by forming a legendary pass-rush duo with Aidan Hutchinson. The Lions’ defense has been impressive, but losing Hutchinson to injury showed the importance of depth, and Crosby would provide that.
The Raiders, on the other hand, would receive a pair of first-round picks, which would be a significant haul for a player who has expressed frustration with the team’s losing culture. Additionally, they would acquire quarterback Hendon Hooker, who could potentially become a starter.
While the proposal is intriguing, it’s worth noting that Crosby has recently expressed optimism about the Raiders’ direction, which might make him less likely to leave. However, the prospect of playing for a contender like the Lions, combined with his Michigan roots, could make the deal appealing to him.
Ultimately, the trade would be a massive price to pay for Crosby, but it could make the Lions the favorite to win the championship next season.
