Eagles Rehire Former Assistant O-Line Coach—Back in Philly

Eagles Rehire Former Assistant Offensive Line Coach Greg Austin
The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back Greg Austin, their former assistant offensive line coach, according to a report from Eliot Shorr-Parks. Austin’s return follows the departure of T.J. Paganetti, who had served as the Eagles’ run game specialist and assistant offensive line coach before leaving for a position with the New Orleans Saints.

Here’s a quick look at Austin’s coaching career:

2010-2012: Oregon graduate assistant
2013-2015: Philadelphia Eagles assistant offensive line coach
2016-2017: UCF offensive line coach
2018-2021: Nebraska offensive line coach
2022: FIU offensive line coach and run game coordinator
2023: Jacksonville Jaguars offensive quality control coach
2024: Jacksonville Jaguars assistant offensive line coach
Austin first joined the Eagles in 2013, coming over from Oregon to work under Chip Kelly. He spent three seasons alongside Eagles’ current offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland before moving to college football. Austin returned to the NFL with Doug Pederson in 2022 and worked as an assistant offensive line coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With Austin back in the fold, it’s likely that Stoutland had a major influence on the decision, as the two have previously worked together and have built a strong coaching relationship.
