Rising Star: Top WR Prospect Keeps Getting Compared to Amon-Ra St. Brown

Emeka Egbuka Drawing Amon-Ra St. Brown Comparisons Ahead of NFL Draft
Amon-Ra St. Brown has made a name for himself in Detroit, turning his underdog draft status into fuel for an elite NFL career. Now, it looks like one of this year’s top wide receiver prospects, Emeka Egbuka, is being compared to him—and for good reason.

Egbuka, coming out of Ohio State, isn’t likely to wait as long as St. Brown did to hear his name called on draft night. He’s widely projected as a first-round pick, and his production speaks for itself—posting over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in two of his last three seasons. Despite missing some time in 2023, he played a key role in Ohio State’s national title run, showing off his reliable hands and sharp route-running.

The St. Brown comparison isn’t just about their stats. NFL analysts, including Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema and NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, see striking similarities in their play styles—both are savvy, tough, and polished route runners who can line up anywhere. Even physically, they’re nearly identical, with Egbuka standing 6’1”, 205 pounds, compared to St. Brown’s 6’0”, 202 pounds.

Some mock drafts, including CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson, have Egbuka going 32nd overall to the Eagles, labeling him as a classic “big slot” receiver—just like St. Brown. If he lands in the right system, he might just live up to the lofty comparison.
